Outreach

Ministry in and to our community is part of our DNA.  Our deepest desire is to not only build relationships with the people in our community, but to be the embodiment of Christ to everyone we encounter.  Listed below are some of the ways in which we are seeking to make the truth of the kingdom of God a reality in our community.

Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

Each year at Easter we host a breakfast and egg hunt for the community.  With about 1000 eggs, the kids have plenty of chances to get candy and prizes as part of our celebration of Christ's Resurrection.

Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day Parade

This is our way of celebrating the memory of those who have given their lives in service to our country, and to those who are currently serving in our military.  We hand out free U.S. flags and a bottle of water to anyone who wants one.

Fishing Derby

Fishing Derby

This is our first year doing a fishing derby.  Our motivation in doing this is to provide a venue where families can do something together, and because of the beautiful countryside around us, what better way to do that than a morning of fishing?  Various prizes will be given out for things like first fish caught, biggest fish, smallest fish, and last fish caught, but nobody will go home empty-handed.

Harvest Party

Harvest Party

Each year we provide a Halloween alternative event.  In addition to the usual games and candy, Pastor Stan does a Gospel presentation as he carves up a pumpkin.  Also, a highlight of the evening is the chili cookoff where people bring in their favorite pots of chili to share.  This is always a ton of fun!
