Sermon in a Sack is a weekly component of our worship service,
and is centered around the young children in the congregation.
More than a children’s sermon, Sermon in a Sack dynamically
involves the kids in the message.
Pastor Stan is talking with the kids about the good, and the “not so
good”, things that happened in their week.

Then one child presents Pastor with an
item in a sack. He has NO idea what’s in the sack, but he has to
tell them a truth about God, or their relationship with God,
symbolized by whatever the item is. Should Pastor get “stumped”,
he takes the child out for ice cream.
As much as the kids enjoy trying to “stump the Pastor”, the
adults enjoy seeing the interaction between the Pastor and the
kids, hearing the comments that can only come from kids (“out of
the mouth of babes…”) and the enjoyment of seeing Pastor
“squirm”.
